Living the life we want
Wow! Busy times in Melbourne

Self Development course all day Saturday

Changes in our plans
Dancesport Championships
Yesterday we had the most fabulous day at Dancesport, we got there early to see the Amatuer Latin 1st round and stayed right through till midnight last night to see the finals. Wow what a day. We were exhausted from just sitting there, I cant imagine how the competitors felt. It was absolutely fantastic to see the spectacle that is Dancesport, the amazing athletic abilities of these dancers that just come out round after round and dance there hearts out.
And the COSTUMES!!! My god, how much money there was on that floor! There must have been over 500 hundred competitors all in costumes worth an average of $2000, hang on a minute, that makes it $1,00,000 worth of costumes yesterday! And thats not including the shoes, hairstyles, nails and makeup. Even though we dont have photos to show, I think you can get the picture.
The best part for me was the intermission in the evening. At this point the spectators have a choice to rush out for a fag (cigarette:-), grab some more junk food, rush to the loo or do what most people do, stay inside the stadium and have a dance on the massive competition floor. This is such an amazing sight it leaves me inspired everytime i see it. The floor can take probably 500 people, it gets absolutely full of kids, adults, aunties, uncles. The music starts and they all move in unison to the same choreographed dance, usually an Evening Three Step or Carousel. It is unbelievable to see the whole room move to the one beat, at the same time, in the same way. If I'm not dancing I just sit and soak of the moving inspiration that is in front of me.
Self Expression and Leadership Program
On Saturday Paul and I (plus our two best friends) started the first day of a three month course that is going to take us all to the next level of where we want to be in our lives. Its part of the Landmark Education program, we have all done two courses already and this is the final in a three part series. We are all very excited as this course takes us through a process of delivering a project that we are passionate about. The program helps us worth through areas where we would normally get stopped and shows us who we need to be to reach our own goals.
Its a fabulous course, I started it two years ago but my dad got sick (and passed away) so I didnt complete it. I'm really excited to complete it, I know whats in store and how it will stretch me to the next level.
Changes to our Plans
There have been murmurs about changes to our plans, well, its confirmed, we wont be going back onto the ships for a while. We will be staying in Australia and working on several opportunities. The first one is that Paul has an opportunity to be on a television show out here. The second one is that we are starting a business together that will take our dancing to new areas through teaching, lecturing and performing.
So, apologies to all our lovely Crystal guests that were looking forward to cruising with us in 2007, we wont be there to share your holiday but we are sure you will appreciate the exciting opportunities that await us here in Australia. We may be back in 2008, we never say never :-)
Back to whats happening right now, we are currently having a website built for us, it should be ready around mid January 2007 and we are speaking with a couple of businesses to secure some corporate and private work.
We are very excited about staying in Australia and building our future together. We are really excited that we have some help in terms of the SELP program. We are also very happy that our closest friends are joining us in this journey and we will all get to see each other grow and live the lives we want.
But for now, its cleaning the house to get it ready for my family to move out, finding somewhere to live, finding a car and getting our lives in order.
We are so excited about our future, we cant wait for next year to take off, we plan to live the life we want and love the life we live!
