It's a girl!!!

Today we received the exciting news that I am an aunty for the very first time! Littly baby Katie, Lillian was born 8.78lbs at 6.05pm November 29, all beautiful and perfect.

Katie is the wonderful work of my only brother Wayne and his lovely partner Sarah. We dont have any photos yet, Katie is 4 hours drive from us in Melbourne, so we are packing our things and getting ready for a visit to Echuca/Moama, right on the boarder of New South Wales and Victoria.

I love Sarahs approach to childbirth, she's what we call a "power birther" no mucking around (with 18 hour labour periods like my mother) Sarah felt her first contraction, felt another, yep, its time to go... she makes the short trip to the hospital, 90 minutes of pain, three quick pushes and bingo! Out pops that baby.

Sarahs a bit of a tough one, she did it with no drugs, no stitches, no cuts, bruises, nothing, just sheer birthing power! We love it!! Way to go Sarah, you're my idol!

My mother is ecstatic, she is a granny for the first time. For various health reasons, we all thought my mother would not be around to see any of her grandchildren, so every day she gets to spend with her only grandaughter is an absolute blessing. My two teenage sisters Kelly and Lizzy are now aunties and they cant wait to be asked to babysit.

And for me, well, I have been given the very prestigous honour of being asked to be the godmother of this little bundle of joy. Imagine that, 1st time aunty and 1st time godmother all in one go!
